Introduction

Tailor (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Tailor browser extension, web application, and mobile application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address and password when you create an account
  • Saved items: Products you bookmark or save across stores
  • Search queries: What you search for within the Tailor extension or app

Information collected automatically

  • Product page data: When you visit a supported store's product page, we extract the product name, price, brand, category, and image URL to provide price comparisons and similar item recommendations
  • Price observations: We record product prices over time to build price history charts and detect price drops. This data is anonymized and not tied to your identity
  • Browsing history (local only): The last 50 product pages you visit are stored locally on your device to power the “Recently Viewed” feature. This data is never sent to our servers unless you explicitly opt in

Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not read your emails, messages, or social media
  • We do not track your activity on non-shopping pages
  • We do not collect payment or credit card information
  • We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to advertisers
  • We do not inject or modify affiliate tracking cookies

How We Use Your Information

  • Price comparison: Finding similar items across 45+ stores and showing whether a price is high, typical, or a great deal
  • Price history: Tracking price changes over time so you can make informed purchase decisions
  • Coupon discovery: Showing available coupon codes for the store you are visiting
  • Personalization: Improving product recommendations based on your browsing patterns and saved items
  • Account sync: Syncing your saved items and preferences across devices when you are signed in

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser and transmitted only over HTTPS.

We implement Row Level Security (RLS) on all user data tables, ensuring that only you can access your own saved items and preferences.

Price history data is stored anonymously without user identifiers. Coupon data is publicly accessible and contains no personal information.

Browser Extension Permissions

The Tailor browser extension requests the following permissions:

  • activeTab: To read product information from the current tab when you are on a supported store
  • storage: To save your preferences, bookmarks, and browsing history locally on your device
  • alarms: To periodically check for price drops on your saved items
  • notifications: To alert you when a saved item drops in price

The extension only activates on supported shopping websites (Nike, Zara, H&M, ASOS, Nordstrom, and 40+ others). It does not run on any other websites.

Third Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Authentication and database hosting
  • Meilisearch: Product search engine (hosted on Railway)
  • Vercel: Web application and API hosting
  • Google Fonts: Typography (Google Sans Flex, Instrument Serif)

We do not share your personal information with any of these services beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all data we have associated with your account
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the extension's profile page
  • Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
  • Opt out: Disable browsing history tracking, price recording, or notifications from the extension settings
  • Uninstall: Removing the extension immediately stops all data collection. Local data is automatically deleted by your browser

Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained until you delete your account
  • Saved items: Retained until you remove them or delete your account
  • Price history: Anonymized records retained for up to 180 days, then automatically purged
  • Local browsing history: Last 50 items, stored on your device only, cleared on extension uninstall

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
